Doctoral Candidate Ryan Chandler successfully defended his dissertation, “SEMANTIC-PROSODIC CORRELATES OF BACKCHANNEL UTTERANCES IN HUMAN-COMPUTER DIALOG” on March 28th and will graduate May 2023.
Program Area: Cognitive Science and Language Processing
Research: I am interested in researching the practical applications of computational semantics inside large organizations for the purposes of unlocking the potential of unstructured (text) data.
My research also includes the development of knowledge representations in the form of ontologies and graph data structures to support cognitive information systems specifically human-computer dialog systems.
