INFORMATICS PhD FOCUS AREA(s):
- Health and Medical Informatics
- Data Analytics and Information Visualization
- Spatial Informatics
My research interests lie at the intersection of Public Health, Health & Medical Informatics, with a focus on leveraging data and digital technologies to improve health outcomes. I work across areas of data analytics , information visualization, and spatial informatics, particularly as they apply to the epidemiology of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and geospatial epidemiology.
I am especially interested in health information management, interoperability of health applications, and the design, maturity, and user experience of health technologies. My work explores how digital tools including EHR/EMR systems, telemedicine, and mobile health applications can support chronic disease prevention and management, especially for NCD’s. Additionally, my research engages with rural healthcare delivery, public health informatics, global health informatics, secondary data analytics and digital health innovations to understand how technology can enhance access, equity, and quality of care.
