Studio-based learning methods, which are common in art and architectural education, are used to help students address a real-world problem or ‘case’. Working in teams and mentored by the instructor and experts, students will learn how to ‘be a professional’ in an environment in which process is as important as project. During the term, students will participate in a cyclical process of design creation, presentation and critique culminating in a final presentation during the final day(s) of class of the finished proposal/design of how to address the case.
